The church as described by the Bible is on that connects with the world around it. It attracts people, builds people up in their daily lives, builds up the its local community, and builds up the global community. Christ Community strives to become a connective church in the world around us.

We are called to live our lives in Christ. He makes it clear His purpose is life. In John 10:10b Jesus states, “My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” The Message Bible translates that same passage as, “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” What does this life look like?

Paul describes a life in Christ as one where we, “Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean revel in Him!” It is a life where, “with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love! Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God!” We are called to, “live in such a manner that you are a credit to the Message of Christ. Stand untied, singular in vision, contending for people’s trust in the Message, the good news, not flinching or dodging in the slightest before the opposition. Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving message into the night.” When we live this kind of a life in Christ, through His power we can connect to the world around us. When we live a life in Christ, we can build a Body of Christ that connects with one another and the world around us.

A connective church church must be firmly grounded in scripture. We are made effective, not through ourselves, but through the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, everything we say and do must be supported by the Word. We must have scriptural support for any endeavor we undertake. To guide our operations as a connective church, Christ Community has established the following mission/vision and core values to guide our direction and decisions:

Growing God’s Kingdom – Our united purpose is to share the good news of the Gospel with those apart from Christ, wherever they are. The congregation is not the mission. The congregation is established by God to accomplish THE MISSION: to share Jesus.

Christ Centered Ministry and Education – In everything, our authority is the Bible. We believe that growing in our faith and knowledge of Christ is meant to be an exciting lifelong adventure through which we grow toward Christian maturity. We promote personal spiritual growth through effective Bible teaching and training for service.

Inspiring Worship – We gather together in public worship services that celebrate the love and forgiveness of God. We are His people. With praises and prayer, we continue to grow closer to Christ. We want to reflect His presence in the way we live and relate to others.

Christ-Centered Living – We believe a relationship with Christ can make a joyful difference in our daily lives. We share His love with each other and with the world around us. In His name we seek to meet needs. Through personal Bible study and prayer we continue to grow closer to Christ. We want to reflect His presence in the way we live and relate to others.
